Winter is the play time when the weather starts gets cold, so it's really important to protect your pet from these elements. The following tips will help keep your dog safe throughout the winterl season:
- Keep cool, fresh water in a readily available place for your pet and protect it from freezing
- On very cool days, take your dog on easy walks. This helps your dog get adjusted to the cold winter weather.
- On really cold days, keep your dog off materials such as black pavement, metal grates and ramps – his paws may get frostbite from them
- Take your dog with you when you park your car - Never leave a pet in it since the temperature could get very cold a very short time period.
- Make sure he or she has a warm place to rest that provides shelter from the elements.
You can ensure you and your pet have an enjoyable winter together just by taking a few precautions.
